1. Where can you apply torsion springs? Torsion springs can be used in many applications where coil springs are currently being used. They are particularly well suited where there is limited vertical space. Torsion springs offer a simple compact design with variable spring rates. 2. Are there any safety concerns with torsion springs? The rubber cords of the torsion springs are encapsulated within a tube so there aren't any exposed pinch points. 3. How are torsion springs installed? Torsion springs can be welded or bolted into a frame or an assembly. They can be easily engineered into your product. 4. Are there any exposed parts subject to rust or requiring maintenance? No maintenance required. The rubber cords are within a tube and are not affected by the ambient conditions. The tubes can be painted, galvanized, or suplied with any protective coating you want. 5. Will torsion springs absorb shock and vibration? Torsion springs are ideal for absorbing shock and vibration in such applications as PTO drive lines, motor mounts, bulk handling conveyor cleaners, overhanging booms, wheels and many other similar products. 6. How do I select a torsion spring? Contact our application engineering department at 800-262-2953 or info@henschenaxle.com, and they will assist you with your selection. 7. What information will your application engineers require to select a torsion spring? Our torsion springs are made to meet each customer's particular application. Among the information required will be:
8. Can you supply prototype torsion springs? Yes, prototypes will be developed for your testing. 9. Are torsion spring applications less expensive than coil spring applications? Each application is different but torsion springs are lower in cost than coil springs in many installations. |
